Who are we?
Hi, I’m Chantal Wellavize and I’m the founder and Managing Director of Equichoice. Thank you so much for visiting our website! I set Equichoice up in 2006 with a mission to provide products that the horse would choose. There is so much out there, and it’s fair to say that quality and effectiveness of products really does vary quite a lot. So our aim is to take the uncertainty away from you, so that you know you're getting the best for your horse.
At Equichoice we believe in products that make your horse’s life more comfortable, healthier and that help better performance - and a better relationship with you, so that you can have more fun together. We’re realistic enough to understand that a completely natural wild existence is impossible to achieve for a domestic horse - and that actually some domestic enhancements are perfectly possible for a happy, well-balanced horse and not such a bad thing. At the same time, we believe that if we’re going to keep horses, ride and compete them, then we should work with them ethically, keeping their natural instincts, their personalities and their physical needs at the forefront of what we do.
With all that in mind, we do use many of the products we sell with our own horses. Currently we have four of various different shapes, sizes, ages and quirks and my own background in showing, breeding and dressage gives me a rider's perspective on the products we use and sell.
We also learn about our products - the science behind them, the correct way to fit and use them and the circumstances where they should or shouldn’t be used. So if you have any questions about any of our products, I would encourage you to ask us and we’ll always do our best to help you out.
